What do producers want? What are the different avenues available to help you sell your project? That is what this workshop is all about.
The Film Lab is proud to announce this new ONE DAY ONLY weekend workshop. Toronto, Canada. March 28th, 2010.
This is open to writers and performers of who wish to know more about Agents, Producers, Pitching and Selling their Work for Film and Television.
Our Guest for this workshop: Hollywood Development Executive and Producer Gina Mingacci.
Instructor Profile:
Gina Mingacci has worked as a Development and Production Executive in Los Angeles for many years.
Some of her past projects include: Scream, Kids, Swingers, Beautiful Girls, Gummo, and Citizen Ruth. She has worked with many talented writers and directors such as Alexander Payne, Larry Clark, Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander, Scott Rosenberg, and Harmony Korine.
Gina produced two feature films for New Line Cinema. The Prime Gig with Vince Vaughn and Ed Harris, directed by Gregory Mosher, and Buddy Boy starring Aiden Gillen and Emanuelle Seigner, directed by Mark Hanlon. Both films premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
Gina co-founded a film production company with Harmony Korine in London, and is currently an independent film producer with several projects in development.

When putting together your project, what should you be focusing on? What kind of companies purchase projects like yours? Our guests can let you know.
This workshop features discussions with working film and television producers and will be an inside look into where the industry is, and what you can do to maximize the strength of your projects.
Our instructors speak from their own experiences. Your questions will be answered with the first hand knowledge of professional situations.
Topics will include:
- What is the story you are selling?
- What producers are really looking for.
- Pitching your work.
- Taking notes from producers and directors.
- How to present yourself as a professional
*Please note, although our guests are here to discuss approaches to your projects and pitches, they will not be available to read full manuscripts. We will however be talking about the correct fashions for properly submitting material to production companies. Our faculty are available for consulting on a 1 on 1 basis.
